About Fountain
The city of Fountain was established back in 1859, and was named by French explorers for the Fountain Creek which runs nearby. Recently named “America’s Millennium City” by the New York Times, it is a combination of the “good old west” complete with farms and agriculture mixed with new construction homes, along with shopping strips that undoubtedly have breathed fresh life into the city. Situated minutes away from Ft. Carson and I-25 this area is very convenient for those who work at Ft. Carson, or commute to Pueblo or need handy access to I-25. This is definitely an up and coming area, with a lot of building going on even now.
Nearby Attractions A visit to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is something you won’t regret. In the summer the kids will love taking a break at the children’s petting zoo and playing at the wet zone where larger than life flowers and trees squirt water and cool them off, giving Moms and Dads a nice break. Feeding the giraffes is a Kodak moment you will want to capture, and the budgie display is a favorite for all ages (it is seasonal, so check to see if it’s available.)
Seven Falls is a lovely place to go hiking and even take a picnic. There are a lot of steps so you can skip the gym if you have a mind to get to the top. The scenery is lovely and especially nice in the spring and summer when you can see the wildflowers in all their glory.
Broadmoor Hotel There is plenty to do here, come enjoy cuisine from one of the many 5 star restaurants or complete a round of golf on their famous course, or check in for the day and pamper yourself with a massage at the world class spa. If you are on a budget, enjoy a walk around the gorgeous lake and enjoy a coffee or ice cream from Julies Café, or sip a nice romantic glass of wine by the outdoor fireplace on the terrace off the bar area.
Pueblo Reservoir Water lovers will enjoy swimming, water-skiing, boating, sailing, and fishing on Lake Pueblo. Lake Pueblo has 4500 acres of surface water, 9600 acres of park and 400 campsites. Especially nice is the parade of lights when the boats are all done up with gorgeous lights and they parade their beauty at night.
